This is one of my favorite old classic Hollywood films. It is on AFI top 100 movies of all time (number 51) and it is something that should definitely be there. Speaking of AFI’s list, I am trying to watch a bunch of the movies that are on that list. I was to see why those movies in particular were chosen to be on that list. Also I want to see if they would be on my list of my top 100.
Now back to the movie. As I said before, it is one of my favorite classic films. There is something about this movie that I just understand completely. First thing that I really love about this movie is the story. Now this is about a girl who is getting married again and her ex-husband comes and brings reporters to her wedding. A lot of crazy stuff happens and in like 3 days and everything turns all right in the end.
Another thing I really like is the acting and the banter that goes on between the characters, especially between Kathrine Hepburn’s and Cary Grant’s characters. They are so evenly matched in their whit. It’s so entertaining to watch. I also loved the main characters little sister. She just wants to cause her sister trouble and it is quite funny.
Overall I really love this movie. If you haven’t watched it before, I highly recommend it.

Here are some more movies that I am curious about. Enjoy!
First: Mary Poppins Returns- Release Date: December 21st
For this movie I am both excited and hesitant for it. I am excited to see what they have done with the Mary Poppins story and how they have expanded with her story. I am excited to see Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda in the film. I am also excited the Dick Van Dike is going to be in this one as well. I am hesitant because I love the original so much that is going to hard to see something new about it. I am curious to see if it has the same message as the first one or if it will be different.
Next: Welcome to Marwen- Release Date: December 21st
I think this movie looks so cute. I think the use of dolls to help the main character through his struggles is fascinating. I also am excited to see Steve Carell in this roll. He has definitely had some awesome rolls lately that I really like. I also really like that there are also a lot of wonderful women actors that play important rolls for Steve’s character.
Last: Captain Marvel- Release Date: March 8th
I am so excited for this! I really enjoy the all the marvel movies. I am excited to see a long to see a young Nick Fury and how that will look. I am also excited for it so we can get closer to the part two of Infinity War.

This is a movie is something I will always enjoy watching. First thing that I need to talk about are some of the great performances that are in this movie. Of course the first one that would need to be brought up is Robin Williams. Just his monologue along will send shivers down your spine. It is perfectly delivered. Now his performance isn’t the only one that is really great. Stellan Skarsgard does an excellent job in this movie as well. When you first see his character and hear him talk, you are automatically filled with disdain for him.
Another great thing about this movie is the script. It was very well written and showed life as young adults in Boston in an interesting and imperfect light. Everyone in this movie has their difficulty in their life and they show everyone’s faults. The things they say give away so much of these characters.
Overall this is a great movie. It is a movie that I really don’t mind watching multiple times. It always puts a smile on my face at the end and I don’t think I will ever get tired of it.

Now I hope that you would be aware of my love of Wes Anderson with my last review of Isle of Dogs. I absolutely love him. I love the way he shoots his films and the colors that he uses. I love it all. Now I had seen some of this movie before I saw Isle of Dogs, but never all the way through. Now since that I have seen this all the way through several times.
First thing that I really like is the story of the movie. I like that the fox is trying to be better then he is and putting his family and town in danger. I also love the crazy people that he goes after. I also really liked the script and the lightness of the banter between characters.
Another thing I really liked about this movie is the cast. This movie has an all star cast of actors that I really appreciate. Every movie that Wes does I feel like he always has a great cast of actors. I hope it’s because these movies are as fun to make as they are to watch. One day I would love to work on a film of his, that would be amazing.

I absolutely loved this movie. It was so beautifully written and directed. Greta was really about to bring high school in the early 2000’s to life. It felt very real with the mundane-ness of what the kids were doing in the movie. It wasn’t extravagant, it wasn’t the normal high school love story that most high school movies are about. This was about a girl trying to figure out her life and trying to make herself unique among the crowd.
I really felt for her struggle of wanting to get out of her town and wanting to go as far away as possible. That was something that I really wanted once I got into my last years of high school. I also really appreciated the relationship between the main character and her mother. It as great to see how sometimes the moods between the mom and Lady Bird are strained at times, but they still really love each other. Not everything is fine all the time and I love that.
I also really like the slight humor in the movie. It is a slight small things, that at times you can miss, but if you hear and see it, you are in for a real treat. Also the cast in this film is freaking awesome! It has so many great actors in it that I just adore!
Now I do know that this type of movie isn’t for everyone. It doesn’t have much action in it, as far as things that really grab your attention. But, that’s really something that I like about this. I like that it really captures a mundane high school life.

So as you can see I have done this a couple of times before. I want to share what I am excited to see in the next upcoming months, and since new trailers are coming out every week, it will be nice for me to go over what I am excited to see. So, here are some movies that I am excited to see, with their trailers.
First: If Beale Street Could Talk- Release Date: November 20th
This movie is from the same director of Moonlight, Barry Jenkins. If that isn’t a sign that this is going to be a good movie, than I don’t know what is. If that some how doesn’t convince you, then take a look at the trailer below. Not only could I not keep my eyes off of it, the music in the trailer takes you on a journey itself. I am so curious to see how this all will come together. I get a calming sense from the trailer, even though you can see that there will be some dramatic moments. I am super excited to see this and you should be to. Also, Oscar? Anyone?
Next: Vox Lux- Release Date: December 7th
This movie just looks interesting and weird. Something about the life of a pop star catches my attention. Natalie Portman looks like she is going in deep into this character. I am curious to see the inner world of this character and what goes through here head when she is trying to be herself and when she is putting on an act for the public.
Last: Holmes and Watson- Release Date: December 28th
Now I feel like there has been so much Sherlock Holmes in recent years with Robert Downey Jrs verison, the BBC version with Benedict Cumberbatch and then the tv show elementary, but this might interesting. In curious to see how this will all play out. Will it be so stupid that its hilarious or not? Or will it be carefully thought out humor that will take the story that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and really analyze what kind of humor it will use? Now I am sure that it will be the first. I just hope that its not just all stupid humor. I will say that the trailer looks interesting.

Now this was a movie that I was’t really interested in seeing at first. I was like: it’s just another teen romantic comedy and I’m in the point in my life where there are somethings that I just really can’t watch anymore. I don’t relate to them as I once did. Part of me is just too old for the crazy random stupid-ness of high school. Now having said that, I did watch this and I did rather enjoy it.
Now in my eyes this was just like any other teen drama, the only difference between the ones I grew up with and this one is that the main character is gay. He still goes through some of the confusion of first loves that anyone can go through. His character also unfortunately has to go through the struggle of people looking at him different after he was outed. That stuff sucks. Now in my experience, when I was in high school, we really didn’t care that someone was gay. Everyone just went about their business and didn’t treat those kids any different then anyone else. That’s just what I saw and experienced. That could be totally different for other people, in other schools, in other parts of the country or world.
Now the only thing that really irritated me was that kid who blackmailed him into trying to get his friend to like the blackmail-y. That shit is not cool at all. That crap is just awful for anyone to do, especially holding Simon’s sexuality against him. Honestly, in high school do people have time for that? I would hope not.
Another thing I really liked about the movie was the soundtrack. It had a lot of good songs on it that showed the type of things that kids are listening to now a days, and some of it I listen to as well. I also liked that Simon had a thing for Elliot Smith and The Beatles. It helps show him as a well rounded kid and the he doesn’t just listen to “the worst top 40.”
Overall I did really enjoy the movie and will definitely watch it again in the distant future.
